Sports and wellness

Maremma is nature, art, and well-being. And well-being also comes from the opportunity to practice all kinds of sports under the guidance of well-trained instructors, completely immersed in one of the most picturesque natural settings. In Maremma, sports become an alternative way to discover the many beauties of this territory, exploring every part of it. Sailing, windsurfing, kite surfing, scuba diving, and underwater fishing are just some of the options available to water sports enthusiasts along the Maremma's coastline.

Horseback riding, trekking, and mountain biking, with a vast array of guided and self-guided hiking trails, are the top choices for those who prefer to explore the Mediterranean scrub, woods, and parks of Maremma.

But Maremma is also the ideal place for relaxation lovers. Thanks to the presence of numerous thermal springs, Tuscany is the Italian region with the highest number of thermal resorts. With temperatures ranging from 25 to 54°C, these waters offer numerous benefits for the body: they treat rheumatism, alleviate vascular disorders, provide relief for respiratory conditions, and often, thanks to the natural settings in which they are situated, do wonders for the soul as well

The province of Siena hosts the highest number of thermal springs in Tuscany, including the beautiful Val D'Orcia.
Among these, Bagni San Filippo stands out, a natural and free thermal area within the Fosso Bianco stream: nestled in the forest, Bagni San Filippo is nicknamed the "White Whale" due to the immensity of the white rock that plunges into the stream and resembles a whale.

In Bagno Vignoni, the Fountain Square in the center of the village is instead very picturesque. Here, you'll find a medieval pool surrounded by Renaissance buildings that distribute thermal water throughout the village. It's a magnificent place where, however, it's forbidden to immerse oneself and has been a source of inspiration for many filmmakers.

Among the most famous in the world, we find the Saturnia Thermal Baths with its 'Mill Falls' in the province of Grosseto. Free hot springs, beloved for the natural setting in which they are nestled, consist of gigantic limestone pools formed over the centuries and are incredibly scenic. Immersing oneself in their waters is truly an experience.
